Our pioneer Sisters came to Holyoke in 1873 as members of another community from Kingston, Ont., Canada. In 1892, we became incorporated as the Sisters of Providence, an independent congregation in the Springfield Diocese.

Our History

It is only when we reflect back on our darkest moments that we can truly appreciate God’s Loving Providence and that gives us the courage.
