Our pioneer Sisters came to Holyoke in 1873 as members of another community from Kingston, Ont., Canada. In 1892, we became incorporated as the Sisters of Providence, an independent congregation in the Springfield Diocese.

Our History

It is through one another and through life’s experiences, that the Providence of God is revealed. Remembering is an essential aspect of our contemplation of Providence.
