After a wide-ranging search, the Genesis Spiritual Life Center Board is very pleased to announce the selection of Sarah Fontaine-Lipke as its new Executive Director. She began her new role on June 20, 2023.

Commenting on the choice, Kevin O’Connor, Board Chair said: “Sarah’s experience, credentials and personal mission are a great match for what Genesis needs to continue to flourish and grow into the future.”

Sarah’s career includes a long tenure at Holy Cross College, Worcester, Mass. where she served in several varied roles that utilized her skills in designing, coordinating and facilitating over 50 overnight retreats, including a Women’s Retreats and the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. She has written and presented many retreat talks and provided individual pastoral counseling to students and alumnae. Most recently she has coordinated and led 30 weddings on campus involving marriage preparation programs, counseling, ceremony design, and directing rehearsals/ceremonies.

Earlier in her career, she served as Campus Minister for Community Service and Partnerships at Stonehill College, Easton, Mass.

Sarah holds a B.A. in Sociology from the College of Holy Cross and a Masters of Divinity from Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. She has received several awards and accolades, such as the Pedro Arrupe Award to a graduating women or man whose faith in the gospel is made visible through their work for justice at Holy Cross and beyond.

SPMC COO Anne Chapdelaine remarked that “Sarah impressed the Search Committee, not only with her skills, awards, and personal experience, but also with her thoughtful communication and management style.”  To ensure a smooth transition, Sarah will be working with Anne Chapdelaine during the month of June and into the first few weeks of July. She lives with her husband and two children in Longmeadow, Mass.
