Who are the Associates of the Sisters of Providence?
Our Associates are non-vowed women and men who hold the Gospel values as the compelling force in their lives and are drawn by our charism (spirit) to our community. Associates share our spirituality and mission without canonical membership or monetary or legal obligations. They collaborate in our mission through involvement in Community activities.

How do I become an Associate of the Sisters of Providence?
You participate in a one-year orientation which acquaints you with our spirituality, vision, history and mission. The orientation process includes approximately four Candidate Evenings in the Heritage Room at Providence Place in Holyoke. In addition you meet on a monthly basis with one Sister of Providence or Associate who serves as your Mentor.

You formalize your Association with the Sisters of Providence at the Congregation's annual "Celebration of Mission and Charism Ceremony" in September.

Sister Mary Horgan and Associate Patricia St. Amand are the current Co-Directors of the SP Associate Program. For more information please email Patricia or call her at (413) 536-7511 x558.

-- Associate Gail Furman

"The Associate Program offers me opportunities to share in the grace-filled spiritual programs of the Sisters and Associates. It is an oasis in a materialistic world."
-- Associate Ed Laprade

"As an Associate, I am able to share my beliefs, ideals and values with others who, more or less, think and feel as I do."
