Providence Ministries celebrates 30 years of service

Providence Ministries for the Needy in Holyoke marked its 30th Anniversary by hosting a January 25 Open House of its newly refurbished Broderick House on Cabot Street. Formerly operating as a family shelter, Broderick House is about to open as a Sober Living SRO (Single Room Occupancy).

The SRO will offer permanent housing for women and men in recovery. Its supportive environment stresses 12-Step participation.

The Sisters of Providence, sponsors and founders of Providence Ministries for the Needy, and Providence Associates were hosted at the event by PMN President Karen Blanchard and her staff. Tours included Broderick House’s 20 furnished rooms, one suite, and the first floor’s congregate kitchen, dining room, and living room.
